Tuition Fee Level Commitment For Continuing Students

The University’s Fee Level Commitment provides information for students from cohorts not explicitly referred to in the Faculty program tuition fee schedules. It also provides information regarding tuition fees in future years.

Since 1998-99 the University’s tuition policy has been that students will be told in advance what the maximum fee increases will be as they continue through their programs for the normal length of a full-time program of study (typically two to four years, with some exceptions for longer doctoral or undergraduate programs that incorporate an extra foundation, co-op, or internship year). Students who exceed the normal length of their program will be charged the same tuition as students in the final year of that program.

Continuing students will not see their fees rise by more than 5% per year during the normal length of full-time study for their program.  Continuing domestic students will see their annual fees rise by less than the maximum 5% per year rate if mandated by the Province’s Tuition Fee Framework.

Note 1: For students who enter in January of any academic year, the tuition level commitment will be extended by one session. For example, the commitment will be extended to May 2027 for a student who entered a four-year doctoral program in January 2023.

Note 2:  Dentistry MSc with Specialty Training and Dentistry PhD with Specialty Training students are alternatively subject to the prevailing SGS doctoral stream tuition fee rates after the minimum registration period declared for each specialty program. Note 3: Last session of tuition price guarantee for the Medicine GDipHR program is based on five sessions of consecutive registration with a Winter start date.

Note 4: the Master of Management and MBA 1-Year (Advanced Standing Option) programs are Spring start programs so the tuition level commitment will extend to the following January for each incoming cohort.
