The University of Toronto Data Hub is a collection of institutional data and meta-data. It contains guidance for staff on how to find internal data resources such as administrative and public-facing reports, data dictionary, data governance procedures, available Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and how to request access to these resources. The purpose of the Institutional Data Hub is to provide high quality data for effective decision-making at the university.
What Data does the Hub contain?
Data Dictionaries
A set of information describing the content, format, and structure of a database and the relationship between its elements.
Data Warehouse
A store of data accumulated from a wide range of sources across the university. The warehouse is an IBM DB2 columnar database with 1 Terabyte of data and 512 GB RAM.
Data Tools
Software that is designed to aid users with different activities such as analyzing data or managing and integrating data sources.
Data Stewardship
Management and oversight of the institutional data to help provide users with high-quality data that is easily accessible in a consistent manner.
User Communities
Users are encouraged to participate in various internal meetings, forums and other communication channels to share and promote best practices in data management, analysis and BI tools use.
Who can use the Data Hub?
